On March 22nd, 2012 I was featured on The Talent of Zelda Informer! They were looking to feature dedicated artists who dedicate a lot of their artwork to show their love for the series. By and large, the majority of my fan art does feature the hero of Hyrule so it wasn't a stretch to submit my work for consideration.
I was originally featured on the website, Zelda Informer. However, recently they have merged with the equally active blog and source of Zelda-related news called Zelda Dungeon. I highly recommend giving them a bookmark if you love the series like I do.
The featured illustration was my illustration that I call Chosen Hero. Even after all of these years, it's still one of my favorites. Did you know that I referenced Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and not the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess? The pose gives it away as this is Link's down aerial attack. The writer of the article, Nathanial Rumphol-Jan, was very kind in his presentation of my work. The following is an excerpt of his post:
"Ville is a graphic designer and artist who has submitted a beautiful selection of artwork for my collection. I thought him and his work were more than deserving to be featured on the main page, so be sure to hop inside to check out a beautifully detailed Sheik, the Chosen Hero of the Zelda series, a romantic kiss between one of the Legend of Zelda’s favorite couples, as well as a wonderful Samus portrait that absorbed me."
Nathanial particularly liked my Metroid fan art, the one I call Samus - Identity. He also shared another one of my artwork, Sheikah Warrior, on his tumblr. He is open to featuring more Zelda related fan art, so if you're an artist or know of any, give him a referral. Zelda Dungeon is all about community, and that includes artists and even musicians. Cheers for Zelda fans!
