This is December 25th, 2012. I want to say THANK YOU to everyone for reading the thoughts on my blog and for viewing my illustrations. Merry Christmas to you on this fine day! I want to celebrate today by showcasing my early work that was Christmas themed. Because this is another entry in my Blast from the Past series, the following illustrations are very rough and overall low in quality. But hey, I was young and a novice. We all had to start somewhere :) Now, I hope you enjoy these Christmas themed illustrations: Add Comment It's no surprise that I'm such a fan of Nintendo. The Legend of Zelda is my personal favorite, but Super Mario comes close. F-Zero is also pretty cool, but I think I have a special place in my heart for the Metroid series. The main protagonist, Samus, is so different and fresh than the other bubbly and colorful cast of characters to come out of the Big N. Whether your your a fan of the silent robot protagonist, or the more emotional and human Zero Suit Samus, I'm sure we can all agree that these games are not just good, they're great! During high school, my friends nick-named me Jums. I took ownership of this name during my DeviantArt Membership days. I used it as my artist name. I'm not surprised if some of my old Jums artwork is still displayed somewhere in the vastness of the internet. Some of my favorite fanart was Teen Titans. I was a big fan when the show aired on Cartoon Network.
My next piece in the Blast From the Past series is titled, Shiloh's Winter. As I already mentioned before, my wife is my favorite subject to draw. I found this piece very suiting for the Holiday Season. Before I forget, I want to wish everyone a MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
This is the first entry in a series of posts focusing on one piece of my early work at a time. It was originally titled, Too Late. I honestly don't remember why I called it that, I guess I thought it was deep or something. Silly me.
I drew it in 2003 as a sophomore in high school. I was about 16 years old. I was really influenced by Anime/Manga at the time. But I was horrible at drawing those big, teary, ANIME eyes...so I casually hid them in Link's bangs. |
